NOTES FOR TEACHERS

Agriculture In the Classroom is a program for students in pre-kindergarten through grade four. The program introduces two young students --- Mike and Muffy --- who look for treasure and find it in Alabama's forests, fields, and farms.

Each of the 13 chapters in the program has the following components:

  1. A short story to be read aloud to students
  2. Suggested activities as a follow-up to the story
  3. Additional information about the commodity featured in the chapter
  4. Two pages of illustrations to be made into books for students to share with others. To make a book, either fold each sheet of illustrations in half or cut each sheet in half. Place sheets together in correct order, add a cover, and staple together
  5. Material in this program may be reproduced only for classroom use by teachers
